Towada Civic Center Plaza Playroom Maintenance

The Towada Civic Center Plaza Playroom (十和田市民交流プラザ「トワーレ」のプレールーム) roof will be closed from Wednesday March 23 to Friday March 25 for ceiling maintenance.

Towada Library Temporary Closure Notice

The Towada City Library will be closed from Monday February 22-Friday February 26, 2016 for a book collection inspection.

During this time, books should be returned using the book return drop box (返本ポスト). In order to prevent damage, CDs and DVDs should be returned to the library service counter.

Flower Horse and aTTA Ant Maintence Notice

Towada Art Center permanent collection pieces "Flower Horse" by Jeong Hwa Choi and "aTTA" (the giant ant) by Noboru Tsubaki are unavailable for viewing while the works are undergoing maintenance. The maintenance is scheduled to end on Friday, November 13th, 2015.

Oirase Gorge Rte 102 Temporary Road Closure Notice

Oirase Gorge Eco Road Festa Temporary Road Closure:

Saturday, October 24-Sunday, October 25, 2015, 9:00-15:00

The road through Oirase Gorge (National Route 102 from the Sobe Intersection to the Nenokuchi Intersection) will be closed to personal car (including rental cars) traffic for the Eco Road Festa during the weekend of October 24th-25th from 9:00-15:00.

Oirase Gorge visitors may park at Yakeyama or Yasumiya (Lake Towada) and make use of the event shuttle bus (800yen one-day pass) during the event's road closure period.

Those wishing to drive between Lake Towada and Towada City during the Eco Road Festa should take the Aobunayama Oirase Bypass route instead.

Fat House Temporary Closure Notice

The "Fat House" in the Towada Art Park (across from the Towada Fire Station) will be undergoing repairs from Tuesday, October 13 - Saturday, October 31, 2015. Entry into the exhibit is prohibited during this time.

Towada Art Center Temporary Closure Notice

The Towada Art Center will be closed for maintenance for four days next month, from Monday, February 16th - Thursday, February 19th, 2015.

The Lounge area will also be closed for floor repairs from Monday, February 2nd - Friday, February 27th, 2015. During this period the Michael Lin piece, "Untitled" will not be available for viewing. The Cafe and Shop may also be closed on some days; please inquire at the Towada Art Center for more details.

Michi no Eki Towada (Towadapia) Temporary Closure Notice

Michi no Eki Towada, Towadapia (道の駅とわだ、とわだぴあ Towada Roadside Station) will be closed for floor and toilet repairs from Monday, February 2nd - Friday, February 6th, 2015. It will also close early, at 17:00, on Sunday, February 1st, 2015.

The following areas will be closed:
- local produce and souvenir sales section
- restaurant
- "Center House" bathrooms (open for use from 17:00-08:00; while the "Center House" bathrooms are closed, the "Shoukoubou" 匠工房　workshop area bathrooms can be used 08:00-17:00)

Kanchogai Dori Road Closure Notice

Kanchogai Dori* will be closed from 8:15am-10:00am on Sunday, January 18th, 2015 for a Firefighters' New Year Ceremony.
