Nakano Momiji Yama's gorgeous autumn foliage makes the whole mountain look like it is on fire during the day and "moving light" illuminations make it an equally enchanting sight in the evenings.

Of particular note, around the Nakano Momiji Yama Shrine there are 200-year-old maple and fir trees, as well as 500-700-year-old Japanese cedar trees.

冬の田んぼアート (Fuyu no Tanbo Art)

Snow artist Simon Beck creates geometrical artworks by walking across/around fields of snow in snow shoes. He has traveled all over the world creating snow art works. Last year (2016) he created his first piece in Japan right in Aomori Prefecture in Inakadate, the home of rice field art! This year, he will be creating an artwork in collaboration with local volunteers.

With a 22m circumference, the Kitakanegasawa Gingko Tree in Fukaura is the largest gingko tree, and 3rd largest tree overall in Japan. It was designated a "National Natural Monument" in September 2004. During the event period, it is illuminated at night.
